Farmer Ben
works all year-around getting his 170 acre farm ready for your visit. His greatest joy is the look of
wonder on the faces of little ones as they spy the rows and rows of vibrant orange pumpkins.
Throughout the Pumpkin Fest season, Farmer Ben can be found in his
favourite place, the seat of his tractor, pulling wagons full of families and
children through his giant Storybook Forest and to the Corn Maze and Boo
Barn.
Did you
know that Parkside was originally a chicken farm? Well it was, until one day when Ben decided to
offer a few pumpkins for sale on the small sweet corn cart he left at the entrance
to the farm. There was a small box beside the cart where
customers could leave money on the honour system for produce they bought. When the pumpkins hit the stand, sales took
off and a pumpkin farmer was born.
